Askamore is located in scenic north county Wexford in the south east of Ireland. Its surrounding towns include Carnew (3 miles), Gorey (10 miles) and Ferns (10 miles). Currently there are 250 households with a population of approximately 550.

The parish boasts a community centre which was completed in 1981, a GAA club (1951), a drama group (1964),  Macra na Feirme group (1982) and a child care centre that was just completed in 2006.
